It’s time to unpack those woollens and get spruced up for the winter. It’s time to get all those sweaters, sweatshirts, turtlenecks, mufflers, cardigans etc. out of the closet.
Infestations often start when woollens are stored in dark places and left unused for long periods of time leaving an awkward smell and sometimes even leading to itchy skin. How much ever airtight you might have kept them, wool fibers are hollow which enable them to readily retain more moisture than other garment fibers. Plus, most often than not, mothballs aren’t as effective as expected when it comes to keeping moths at bay.read more

Life is a mad rush. And we hardly find time to do laundry, let alone doing it right. It is a time-
consuming process, gathering clothes, separating them according colours and fabric, and then following
wash care instructions – all of these are something that is ignored, which usually leads to clothes ageing
much before they are supposed to.
Fabricspa turns 8 this year. Here’s a look back at how far we’ve come. Back in 2008, just before we launched our laundry and dry cleaning operations, we toured the world and took a look at how the world does laundry. From United States to Europe to fully automated facilities in Japan, we learnt lessons from them all. the idea was simple how do we provide the best in class laundry service in India. Our leadership team came back brimming with confidence after their tour and setup the 50,000 sq.ft. plant in Bengaluru, Karnataka incorporating all their learning in this fantastic plant. In an event that can be only described as first of its kind, we invited all the major manufacturers to this world class facility to showcase our large scale laundry operations in India. Our concept was unique then and is unique today. However, we didn’t stop there.
Our facility in Bengaluru was equipped with state of the art water conservation systems which helps us recycle over 50% of the water we consume in our processes. Add to that a top notch rainwater harvesting system and you’ve got a plant that is way ahead of its time, especially when it comes to laundry. With the current water crisis in and around areas near Bengaluru, it can be said that our company is among the few that are at the forefront of saving our city from water woes. Needless to say that this would not have been possible without the support of our 4 lac strong customer base, who with us, share the same affinity to the cities in which we live/operate in. We doubt any laundry or dry cleaning service in India can make a claim like that!read more

There’s an old adage that warns ‘don’t let them pull the wool over your eyes’, meaning beware, do not be easily fooled. Ironically, we say the same about caring for wool.
Originating from animal fur – usually sheep – wool is a natural and very delicate fabric. Maintaining wool in such a way that you prolong its life means meticulous care all through. Those who appreciate this aspect go a long way in keeping their woollens in top condition – carting sweaters around to dry cleaners, spending unimaginable amounts of money and what does all this lead to anyway? When you bring the item back from the cleaners, it carries with it hundreds of known and unknown chemicals that you want to avoid in the first place!read more
Whether you’re cool and casual in a summer dress or have had your bedroom draped in intricately patterned sheets – linen is light-hearted luxury at its best.
Sure, linen is high maintenance, and certainly doesn’t enjoy the same convenience as cotton or denim. While everything you know tells you that it’s a fabric that’s difficult to deal with, we make it worth the effort with these simple care tips that offer the protection it deserves.
No Guess Work: follow the specific washing and drying instructions on the clothing tag to a tee. If you’ve got an affinity for organisation, you could also create a file in which you record these specific instructions (before throwing away the tags) so they come in handy at just the right moment.read more
Have you been working your ‘workout look’? If you’re a fitness freak who likes to dress comfortable, then the good news is athleisure is here to stay!
There hasn’t been a better time for keeping it casual. While you invest more money in work out attire, remember that it is just as important to invest your energy in caring for the clothes. Performance fabrics, as they are known, no matter what type – sweat wicking, compression, antimicrobial or ultraviolet protection (UPF) – are all high maintenance.
The life of your active-wear is entirely dependent on your treatment of it, hence they need to be cared for properly.read more
From the second they are born to every other moment after that, humans care for their young like no other. In this modern day and age of chemical-everything, that intensive parental care comes with a hundred thousand times more responsibility than it did before.
Baby skin is sensitive and prone to all sorts of infections and allergies. Of course, there’s that eternally common nappy rash that happens to everyone but is – in truth – so easy to avoid. As the name already establishes, the culprit of that rash is the nappy. It isn’t the actual fabric of the nappy itself that causes it, but probably excessive detergent or improper disinfection.read more

It seems like a good deal, so why complain?
When you’re outsourcing every single task to an external entity, you inevitably compromise your control over what goes into it or how it gets done. For example, when you buy a burger at a fast food joint, can you know for sure the source of the ingredients or quality of oil used?read more
